Product Details
Toro is a relatively small classified area in the North Western part of Castilla y Leon, it sits near the Duero River but is to the west of the Ribera del Duero region. Wine was first produced in the region that is now known as Toro over two millennia ago; although the Denominación de Origen of Toro was only created in 1987. Wines labelled as Cosecha are younger than Crianza wines, Cosecha simply means vintage – as in wine produced in the year specified and nothing more. It is a term used in Rioja as well as Toro, the term Joven is also used although tends to indicate the wines should be drunk in the year of production whereas Cosecha wines will age quite well. This is 100% Tempranillo, known locally as Tinta de Toro but unlike Rioja there is no oak aging here, the result is a youthful fruity wine. Full of deep wild fruit and bramble flavours, followed by hints of plum and dark chocolate, with a really elegant finish - superb value for money.
