Product Details
Mendoza is "Argentina's Bordeaux" according to writer Andrew Jefford, accounting for 70% of the country's vineyards, Chief winemaker at Andean Vineyards, Rodolfo 'Opi' Sadler is one of Argentina's most exciting talents. Combine these two together and the resulting wines have got to be good! Opi’s winery is one of the most accomplished and awarded in the country, whilst Rodolfo has built up quite a reputation himself, with many accolades to his name. To ensure the wine is elegant and smooth, French oak barrels are used for a nine-month ageing, this allows the fruit characters to increase in subtlety and avoids producing a “fruit bomb”. On the nose there are ripe cherry and plum fruit aromas with earth and mineral notes accentuated by the elegant edge of oak. The palate is full-bodied with more rich black cherry and currant notes followed by a dry complex and lingering cedar finish.
