In the words of the producers Angove, the Butterfly Ridge wines are “made for every day enjoyment. Wines for a special lunch with family on a Sunday afternoon, or wines to be shared with your partner over a simple meal at home after work. These are special times. In our busy lives, they don’t happen as much as we would like.” The grapes for this wine were sourced from the Angove Family’s own Nanya vineyards and premium growers in the Riverland region; like many of the producers in Australia they have long standing growing agreements with specific grape farmers. Picked late at night to harvest the grapes as cold as possible the grapes the juice also underwent a cool fermentation to preserve the crisp freshness of the fruit. Distinctive floral characters from the Riesling are lifted by the aromatically precocious Gewurztraminer. With a mouth feel of citrus and lime, rose petals and spice and a clean crisp finish, this is a perfect wine for enjoying its unusualness on its own or with spicy food.
