Product Details
The label is evocative of the Belle Epoque, as La Belle Angèle was a famous character of the early 20th century; known for her beauty and joie de vivre, she was the muse of many French impressionist painters. Yet another label produced by Badet Clement, the parent company behind Les Jamelles but produced from their vineyards across the south of France; so the wine is classified as a Vin de France as it isn’t specific to one area, but don’t let that fool you as the quality is superb. The fruit is harvested early in the morning to retain freshness and then individually cool fermented with a month resting on the lees before the wines are then blended together. The nose is full of ripe citrus, apple and gooseberry hint as well as aromas of jasmine and white nectarine. The palate is fleshy and floral with grapefruit acidity and a textured finish, making this a very refreshing wine.
